Shipyard History
The Ferretti story began in 1968 when brothers Alessandro and Norberto Ferretti founded a company in Forlì, Italy, focused on the production of small composite boats. With their passion for boating and their relentless pursuit of excellence, the Ferretti brothers soon gained recognition for their exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
As the company expanded, Ferretti's reputation for building quality vessels grew, leading to the development of larger and more luxurious yachts. In the 1980s, Ferretti introduced its first motor yacht, marking a significant milestone in the company's history. This move set the stage for Ferretti to establish itself as a leading player in the luxury yacht market.
Over the years, the Ferretti Group expanded its portfolio by acquiring and incorporating prestigious brands such as Riva, Pershing, Itama, and CRN. This strategic growth further strengthened their position as a global leader in the luxury yacht market and allowed them to offer a wide range of yachts catering to different audiences with diverse preferences and lifestyles.

Recent standout models under the Ferretti Yachts' brand include: Ferretti 780, 850, 860, InFYnito 90 and 920. The yard's largest model to date is the 30m Ferretti 1000 designed by Filippo Savetti, which launched in 2021.

Design collaborations on models and projects
By partnering with industry-leading designers and naval architects, Ferretti Group has been able to infuse their yachts with innovative design concepts, cutting-edge technology, and timeless aesthetics.
The yacht builder has a long-standing partnership with Zuccon International Project, an acclaimed Italian design studio. Together, they have created most of Ferretti Yachts' exterior and interior model designs. Recent Ferretti yachts penned by Zuccon International Project include the Ferretti 960, 920, 850 and 780.
Filippo Salvetti has played a significant role in shaping the newer Ferretti models. This design collaboration has resulted in models that combine classic elegance with modern innovation, such as the Ferretti 1000, InFYnito 90 and Ferretti 860. For the new models' interior style, the task was entrusted to the design studio ideaeITALIA.
Through strategic design collaborations, Ferretti yachts have successfully combined a harmonious balance between elegant exteriors with sophisticated interiors to create vessels that impress with both aesthetics and practicality; contributing to their reputation for excellence in the luxury yacht market.
